The oil-based injectable testosterone marketed as Sustanon 250 contains four testosterone esters:
- 30 mg Testosterone propionate
- 60 mg Testosterone phenylpropionate
- 60 mg Testosterone isocaproate
- 100 mg Testosterone decanoate
Sustanon injections were created to provide patients with long-lasting testosterone effects. Using a mix of short and long duration esters allowed individuals to inject every 2-3 weeks.
Sustanon’s androgenic characteristics and long-lasting testosterone release have made it a current bodybuilding favorite. However, Sustanon is not prescribed in the USA and is only accessible on the illicit market. Sustanon is accessible via prescription in the USA and Europe.
Almost all US TRT literature focuses on testosterone enanthate, cypionate, and propionate. Because Sustanon is a ‘designer steroid,’ individuals with low testosterone in the USA may be cautious of using it.
The Sustanon Injection Myth
Sustanon’s four distinct esters give it a greater perceived worth in many people’s views. In reality, Sustanon is no different from other testosterone formulations.
Sustanon was intended to be injected every 2-3 weeks. Less needles equals less trouble, right? No way. This kind of injection frequency causes what Sustanon was designed to prevent: blood testosterone peaks and troughs.
The half life of the testosterone esters in Sustanon ranges from 2 days to 2 weeks. So, over 2-3 weeks, testosterone levels will fall.
So inject Sustanon every 5 days. This prevents the peaks and troughs of low frequency Sustanon infusions.
Sustanon comes in glass ampoules. So they are not as convenient as the US re-usable vials. It takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it’s simple.
Sustanon Side Effects in TRT
Sustanon, like other testosterone formulations, has adverse effects.
There are two kinds of adverse effects to consider with TRT. Among the estrogenic side effects are:
- bloating/puffiness
- Bloating
- squeamish nips
- mood sway
Some individuals receiving TRT may need to take an anti-estrogen such Arimidex or Aromasin to reduce estrogenic adverse effects.
The androgenic adverse effects of Sustanon/TRT include:
- Oily skin
- Alopecia
- Baldness in men (for those predisposed to baldness)
Non-clinical/surpraphysiological dosages of Sustanon, like any other testosterone, will have undesirable side effects. Proper dose and consistent injection frequency may practically eliminate adverse effects. So always get therapy from a reputed doctor.
Remember that testosterone is an essential human hormone. So the body easily adapts.
Bio-identical testosterone is NOT the same as a testosterone derivative.
Level 1 Sustanon 250 Dosages
Sadly, Sustanon 250 dosages are not flexible across the three categories of users (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). A weekly dosage of 300 – 500mg Sustanon 250 is the typical beginning dose for any and all Testosterone cycles, and should produce significant increases even on the lowest amount provided. Intermediate users will get great results with 500-750mg monthly Sustanon 250. It is unlikely that advanced users will ever need to go beyond the dosage range used by intermediate users (especially considering advanced users tend to utilize other anabolic steroids stacked with Sustanon 250). Most advanced Sustanon 250 users use 500-1000mg monthly, however it is essential to note that larger dosages of any anabolic steroid do not make you an advanced user. Excessive anabolic steroid use may lead to adverse effects and injury. Extremely high dosages are clearly abuse and not appropriate usage.
Sustanon 250 is a Testosterone product, thus using it as a main anabolic in a cycle isn’t always required. Many users (mainly intermediate and advanced) may stack additional substances with Sustanon 250 (or any Testosterone product) to maximize the anabolic benefits of the cycle. So Sustanon 250 dosages are restricted to TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) dosing regimens. When using Sustanon 250 or any other Testosterone product at TRT doses, the goal is to simply mimic the body’s endogenous production of Testosterone, in order to maintain normal physiological function while the user’s natural Testosterone production is suppressed by the anabolic steroid use in the cycle. Using Sustanon 250 or any Testosterone medication should not exceed 100mg per week.
Sustanon 250mg Female
It is not advised for females owing to the strong androgenic nature of Testosterone. Female athletes seeking anabolic steroids should instead opt for less powerful androgenic anabolic steroids. Sustanon 250 is used medically to help females transition from female to male. Sustanon 250 is the preferred chemical for this purpose due to its significant virilizing and masculinizing effects on women. Sustanon 250’s delayed and variable release periods make it inappropriate for female athletes seeking anabolic steroids without virilization.
Sustanon 250 Dosage Administration
The drawbacks of Sustanon 250 over other single Testosterone ester types for athletes and bodybuilders have been well documented. This drawback stems from the inability to regulate the release rates of the various Testosterone esters in the Sustanon 250 mix. So, anybody using Sustanon 250 will have much less control over half-lives and appropriate dosage. However, to improve physique and performance, Sustanon 250 dosages should be taken every 7–10 days rather than every three weeks as recommended by doctors. Some have even recommended administering Sustanon 250 once every 3 days due to the usage of short-estered Testosterone variations in the mix. It is essential to give Sustanon 250 doses 1–2 times weekly, equally spaced apart, to achieve the most stable blood plasma levels, with minimal peaks and troughs.
Because most of the Testosterone esters in Sustanon are long-estered, all Sustanon 250 cycles must be 10–12 weeks long. The longer esters influence the drug’s half-life and release rate, favoring slower blood plasma level rises, requiring more time to reach optimum blood plasma levels.
Sustanon 250 Dosage Expectations & Results
Sustanon 250, a Testosterone product, suffers from the same problem of aromatization (and will be further expanded upon when Sustanon 250 side effects are covered). So, without an aromatase inhibitor, anticipate massive bulk increases with water retention. This is generally preferred by individuals who do not mind the extra water gain, and who plan to use Sustanon 250 in bulking and strength cycles. Sustanon 250 may be used for lean mass and cutting cycles, but only with an aromatase inhibitor to regulate Estrogen production.
Conclusions
Sustanon may be used for testosterone replacement treatment.
Because Sustanon is injected every 2-3 weeks, several US physicians avoid it. But they miss the point.
Sadly, absence of fundamental pharmacology and ester half lifetimes. So they prescribe Nebido, thinking it’s more stable than Sustanon. Maybe they enjoy the fact that patients require fewer injections, but the patient loses.
Sustanon has been a really good experience for myself and my patients. The mix of esters allows you to forecast testosterone levels in the blood almost exactly. This makes it an extremely safe testosterone replacement technique.
Sustanon includes peanut oil, therefore those with peanut allergies should avoid it.
